The Retreat Hawaii 2026

The Retreat is Vanishing Inc.'s luxury answer to the magic convention: five days on the garden island of Kauai where the lectures, sessions and shows share the itinerary with the island itself. After sold out Retreats in South Africa, Washington D.C. and Greece, the 2026 edition gathered at the five star Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa on Poipu Beach.

The program moved by sea, air and land: a zodiac cruise along the coastline with sea caves and snorkeling, a helicopter tour over the valleys and waterfalls made famous by Jurassic Park, and a resort day of sessioning with the guest performers. Evenings brought intimate performances and lectures from Shoot Ogawa and Jeff Kaylor, with Vanishing Inc. cofounders Andi Gladwin and Joshua Jay hosting throughout.

Unusually for a magic event, The Retreat is built for partners as much as magicians. The package covered four nights of accommodation, breakfast and select meals, every excursion, ground transport, airport transfers, and a photographer documenting the week. An optional Extend the Magic add-on bookended the trip with a night in Honolulu, a private evening at Shoot Ogawa's Magical Mystery Show, a Pearl Harbor tour, and an extra night on Kauai.
