Terms of Service

Convention Crasher is a directory. We list magic conventions, the performers who appear at them, and the businesses that serve the community. We are an index of events, not a party to them.

We do not run any convention listed here. We do not sell tickets, take registrations, or handle your money. Dates, prices, lineups, venues and schedules come from organizers and from material they have published. They change, and sometimes they are wrong. Confirm anything that matters with the convention itself before you book a flight.

If a convention is cancelled, oversold, disappointing, or never happens, that is between you and the organizer. Listing an event is not a recommendation of it, and it is not a promise that it will take place.

Give accurate details when you register and keep them current. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself and tell us at info@conventioncrasher.com if you think someone else has it.

One person, one account. Do not share logins, do not create accounts automatically, and do not register on behalf of someone else without their say-so.

You can close your account at any time from your settings. See section 11 for what happens to your content when you do.

Many performer profiles here were built from lineups and schedules that conventions published, not by the performer. If a profile is about you, you can claim it and take control of it, correct it, or ask us to remove it. There is no charge and no argument. See the Privacy Policy for how.

Only claim a profile that is genuinely yours. Claiming someone else's identity is grounds for immediate removal of your account, and depending on what you do with it, worse.

A claimed profile does not make you our employee, agent, or partner, and being listed does not mean we endorse you or that anyone has agreed to book you.

You keep ownership of everything you post. We do not claim your photos, your bio, or your convention listings.

To display any of it, we need your permission, so by posting you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, resize, and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting Convention Crasher. That licence ends when you delete the content, except for backup copies that age out normally and for anything others have already shared.

By posting, you confirm that:

• It is yours, or you have permission to post it.
• Any person recognisable in a photo has agreed to appear in it, and any photographer has agreed to its use here.
• It is accurate, so far as you know.
• It breaks no law and infringes nobody's rights.

We are not obliged to review what gets posted, but we may remove anything that breaks these terms, and we may do it without notice where the content is harmful or unlawful.

Organizer accounts can publish listings, schedules, pricing and images. With that comes responsibility for accuracy. Specifically:

• List an event you actually have the authority to list. Do not create a listing for someone else's convention.
• Keep dates, venues and prices current, and take the listing down or mark it cancelled if the event is not happening.
• Name performers only where they are genuinely booked. An announced lineup that never existed is the fastest way to lose an organizer account.
• Post images you have the rights to. Venue and promotional photography usually belongs to someone, and it is usually not you.

The Schedule Helper reads a schedule you upload or link, and converts it into events for you. It is a convenience and it makes mistakes. Check its output before you publish, because once published it is your listing.

Do not:

• Post anything unlawful, harassing, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or threatening.
• Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your connection to a convention or brand.
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-copy the directory, or use it to build a competing listing service. Reading pages normally is fine. Automated harvesting is not.
• Harvest email addresses or contact details from profiles for marketing.
• Upload malware, or try to break, overload, or gain access to systems you should not reach.
• Post spam, fake reviews, or repetitive promotional content.
• Use the site to expose a private individual's home address or personal contact details.

Magic has its own convention about method, and we will act on it: do not post exposure of a working method that a creator sells or protects. Reports go to info@conventioncrasher.com.

The site itself, its design, its code, its name and its logo belong to Jafo Digital Magic LLC. You may link to any page here, and you may quote reasonably with attribution. You may not copy the site's design or code, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you.

If something here infringes your copyright, tell us and we will deal with it. The procedure, and the notice we need from you, is on the Copyright page.

The site is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any listing is correct. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Jafo Digital Magic LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost bookings, or wasted travel and accommodation costs, arising from your use of the site or from any convention you found through it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to one hundred United States dollars, or the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months, whichever is greater.

Some places do not allow these exclusions. Where that is true, they do not apply to you, and nothing here removes a right you cannot waive.

If someone brings a claim against us because of what you posted or how you used the site, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and damages in defending it. We will tell you promptly if it happens, and you may take over the defence with counsel we reasonably approve.

You may stop using the site and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will normally explain why unless doing so would make an abuse problem worse.

When an account closes, personal details are removed as described in the Privacy Policy. Convention listings and schedule entries generally stay, because they are a record of events that happened and other people rely on them. A claimed performer profile reverts to an unclaimed listing. Ask us if you want that listing removed too.

These terms are governed by the laws of Florida, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in Osceola County, Florida, and we each agree to that jurisdiction.

Before filing anything, please write to info@conventioncrasher.com. Nearly everything is fixable by email, and it is faster for both of us.

If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands. Not enforcing something once does not waive it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours if the site changes hands.

We update the date at the top when these terms change. For a change that materially affects your rights, we will give registered members notice by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms.
